During the month of August we are recruiting volunteers to help support our sight impaired islanders.
Volunteers are the backbone of our service enabling us to be able to provide more activities and support for our members. Volunteering can be extremely rewarding and can be a way of giving something back to the community where you live.

Volunteer driver
We work with every volunteer to match their skills to a suitable volunteer role while giving them sight awareness training and sighted guiding skills.
Whether it is a couple of hours a week, a day a week or even one day every fortnight, we are always on the look out for new volunteers to support our members.
What can you offer?
We are currently looking for volunteers for the following positions:
General Volunteer
We need a person who can help us occasionally with the putting up and the taking down of our advertising banners (a few times a year). We also need a little help with our recycling and also some ad hoc handy jobs.
Activity Day Helper
On Wednesdays some of our sight impaired members come to our centre to do arts and crafts and gardening Our numbers are growing and we need extra help to support our art specialist in helping our members.
Social Club Helper
The role is to serve tea, coffee & lunch and assist with the bingo, raffle and any activities.
Volunteer Drivers
The role is to collect and return sight impaired clients who attend our day centre lunches at Westlea Centre, St Martin.
